  • International Day of Happiness will be observed in all District Headquarters as a part of Quasquicentennial Year celebrations with the involvement of general public to create awareness about the importance of happiness in life and happiness index with variety of programmes.

  • Programme in the capital city : Happiness Day will be observed by PHQ at MG Marg with colourful cultural programme, band display and talks on importance of the day.

16-22 April 2022

  •     Road Safety Week: Weeklong programme will be organised all over Sikkim with the theme "Sadak Suraksha, Jeevan Raksha" involving all stakeholders.

  •     Selection of Best Driver (district wise) and Reward/Felicitation.

  •     International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking: The day will be observed at all Police Station jurisdictions in a befitting manner with maximum public participation including known drug abusers, ex-abusers and experts on the subject. Cultural programme by local youth and motivational and awareness talks will be included in the programme to be closely supervised by District and Sub-Divisional Police Chiefs.

    OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:

    1. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: AKAM will be highlighted with use of logo and message in all the functions of Quasquicentennial Celebrations.

    2. Sikkim Police Brass Band and Pipe Band Display will be organised in all district headquarters, sub-division headquarters and other important towns as a part of Quasquicentennial Year celebrations.

    3. New Outlook for Sikkim Police Band: The summer and winter uniform of Sikkim Police Brass and Pipe Band will be redesigned.

    4. One Family One Entrepreneur: Under the ambitious scheme recently announced by the Government the local entrepreneurs will be encouraged to put up their stalls for exhibition and sale in each and every venue of programme.

    5. Felicitation of Achievers of Sikkim Police: The felicitation of achievers in various fields will be done in different important programmes in phased manner.

    6. Involvement of General Public and retired Police Personnel: Maximum public participation especially the retired Police personnel will be involved in all the events.

    7. Home Guards: HGs will be activity involved in all the activities. A proposal for "Best HG of the year” will be mooted soon.
